Postdoctoral Fellowships


In order to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship, you need to first verify that you have the right permissions to create and submit proposals.

Identify the Program You Want to Apply For

Add a Proposed Postdoctoral Fellow Role

  • Sign in Opens in a new window to Research.gov or Register Opens in a new window for an account
  • Select the My Profile link located on the top right of the screen
  • Select the Add a New Role option from the left navigation bar
  • Click the blue Add Investigator or Authorized User Role button located in Prepare Proposals and Manage Awards box
  • Select Proposed Postdoctoral Fellow and complete the process
  • Note that it can take up to 30 minutes to be able to prepare a postdoctoral fellowship proposal

Start Your Proposal

  • Go to Prepare and Submit Proposals Opens in a new window and prepare a new proposal
  • Select Prepare New > Full Proposal (unless the solicitation specifies otherwise)
  • If prompted to select an organization, select I am a Postdoctoral Scholar (Postdoctoral Fellowship Proposals)
