Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER)
Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) project sites are a vital part of the agency-supported research infrastructure. NSF established the LTER program to conduct research on long-term ecological phenomena. The sites are located primarily in the United States, but there are also locations in the Arctic, Antarctic and tropics.
