Unless stated otherwise, images and other media accompanying the NSF Award Highlights published on the National Science Foundation’s “Science, Engineering, and Education (SEE) Innovation” website are available for use by NSF employees, members of the media, science and engineering researchers, university news offices and other staff, educators, and the general public. They are intended for personal, educational, and nonprofit/non-commercial use only.
  
The image “credit” must accompany all uses in print, electronic, or other materials. Usually, that credit lists the owner or copyright holder of the image. Images credited to the National Science Foundation (NSF), a federal agency, are in the public domain. You may freely use NSF-credited images and, at your discretion, credit NSF with “Courtesy of National Science Foundation.” Granting the right to use images or other media from the SEE Innovation website does not explicitly or implicitly convey NSF’s endorsement of the site or document in which the media is used or the entity using it.
   
Most of the images and other media associated with Award Highlights on SEE Innovation have been donated by external sources for public use, with the understanding that whoever uses them will include the credit.
